clouds this morning and drizzle and most of us did not have to use our windshield wipe wees to give you an idea how light it is. temperatures is 65, below average at the bay with sunny conditions. inland neighborhoods we will see sunshine quicker and we will be warmer at 69 by 4:00. at the coast it will be clouds for the better part of the day and temperatures flirting with 60 this afternoon. >> i have to say it is quiet at this hour and we do not see many accidents but one report of the two-car crash in oakland is not causing any delay as we look outside. southbound direction the tail lights moving down to 580, and we have clear conditions as you make the drive to sausalito and over the golden gate bridge. a check in the east bay, and a look at the walnut creek, 680 to highway 24, we are seeing a little bit of a slow down out there, and a quick check of the drive time traffic loading up

congestion wise 33 minutes from antioch to concord at highway 4, an hour on 580 and 80 through berkeley, you are looking at a short 13 owe -- thin -- 13 or 14 minutes. >> in oakland flames broke out at the famous merritt bakery. amy hollyfield has what is going on right now. >> we just got a look inside at the damage and it doesn't look good. look at these pictures from inside the merritt bakery. it looks like the kitchen suffered a lost damage along with what looks to be a utility room. it looks like it is ruined, with serious smoke, fire, and water damage. it looks like the 61-year-old bakery could be shut down for a while. firefighters say they are aware of the restaurant's significance. >> it is an icon. we have had several incidents in

the past and it has changed ownership twice in 23 years as a firefighter but it is an icon and a great place to eat. >> they got call at 2:45 in the morning the merritt bakery was on fire. they found fire burning inside on the first and second floors. it was closed at the time. so no one was hurt. all firefighters are okay. they got it out in about 30 minutes and you can spot from the outside the facade looks okay and the building is still standing but all the damage is inside. firefighters do not know what caused the fire. the owner just arrived. we will try to talk to her and get more information is stay with us as we continue to cover this developing story. >> this morning, caltran is expected to announce if a new eastern span of the bay bridge will open as scheduled labor day week. officials are also set to reveal

why steel bolts snapped and how they listen to fix them and the cost of the repair. in march, engineers discovered three dozen cracked bolts on the span and state and local authorities along with some bay area lawmakers are pushing for an independent review of anything fixes. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard will have more in a report next half hour. >> developing news from ohio. we are learn new details of the three women rescued from a cleveland home following a decade in captivity. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo joins us in the newsroom with what a source is saying about multiple pregnancies. katie marzullo? >> a police source reports that all three of the women may have been pregnant at some point dug their alleged captivity. this were at least five pregnancies inside the house and, also, that one of the women had two or three miscages -- miscages because she was malnourished. one child was important to

speaking publicly for the first time since the tragedy. the parents of neriza fojas did an interview with philippine station and say it is hard to accept what happened. neriza fojas was scheduled to return to the philippines next month and get married. she was married in a civil ceremony in the states and was celebrating with friends the night of the accident. her father says that he last talked to his daughter last friday through skype. 43-year-old filomina is identified as the 5th woman killed in the fire living in alameda the all five victims and four survivors met at house on saturday afternoon to leave in the limousine for a bridal shower. one of the sons was quiet said her son. >> what is wrong? what is going on? he said, it is going to be mother's day and i don't have a mother. >> he blames the driver for the

the storm system is moving from the central valley and santa rosa is 50 and 52 in napa and fairly at 54 and concord is 53 and gilroy is 48. here are the temperatures in the south bay, in the upper 60's to low 70's and los gatos and morgan hill in the mid-70's. millbrae is the odd one out, and low 60's along the coast today, and sun is setting at 61 and downtown south san francisco mid-60's under sun. sunny in the north bay and the bones are cloudy and low 60's and sunny along the east bay shore with mid-60's to near 70 and partly cloudy and more sunshine in the east bay valley upper 60's to low 70's. it is a day game 59 at&t park and starting at 58 and warming to 62. in the evening and overnight, clouds will come back and keep us in the upper 40's and half moon bay is 46 and low-to-mid 50's for the rest of us, and the

getting beyond that and headed to northern contra costa county but over the next hour, you may see a few sprinkles. for the bay it is mainly humid this morning, and a patch of drizzle here and there but mostly cloudy and 58. clouds break up at noon and below average with sunny sky and mid-to-upper 60's and inland we have a chance of a sprinkle or two through 8:00 and we will see sunshine and that will break out faster than everywhere else with clouds and 70 at 4:00. at the coast it will be gray and cooler with temperatures in the upper 50's. how is the morning commute? leyla gulen? >> in cupertino, it look like it is slowing ever-so-slightly and barely, i have to say with just a few more cars on the road. the drive headed in the east bay we have the hit-and-run accident pulled over to the shoulder look westbound 580 but you can see it caused slowing approaching 680.

it is sluggish making the drive but it picks up to castro valley. the rest of the drive coming from the central valley is bumper to bumper track and over the altamont pass it is at 70 miles per hour. and the 680, the drive in oakland, an ongoing crash we have reports northbound 880 at market street involving three cars with c.h.p. arriving shortly on scene. eric and kristen? >> developing news in brisbane crews rescued a big rig driver after the truck went 100' down an embankment before 3:30 on bay shore boulevard north of san bruno avenue. he did not have a trailer attached. the drive was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. crews have removed the truck from the scene with no word on the cause.

>> in a few hours at 9 10:00 the agency in charge of the new bay bridge will reveal whether the sugar land will be ready for open day opening or if repairs force the commuters to use the old bridge. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard joins us with that story. >> we will know which game plan caltran will use to fix the broken bolts on the new span of the bay bridge. the big question could be answered, as well, will the new span open by labor day as scheduled? this year it was discovered that more than 30 giant seismic safety bolts snapped as being installed. how to fix the problem has been a challenge for caltran engineers and they narrowed it down to three options which involve reinforcing the bolts with a steel saddle a repair job that will take months and cost millions. the governor brown broke his silence on the cracked bolt

controversy this week and is confident that caltran can come up with a solution by labor day. caltran will release their findings at a news conference later this morning in oakland. we will have the very latest for you on abc7 news at 11 a.m. >> in oakland, police are investigating a fatal shooting where 20 to 30 rounds were fired just before 9:00 last night near 50th avenue with the victim driven to a local hospital and he was pronounced dead. crimestoppers is offering a $15,000 reward leading to arrest of a gunman. a local fire station hit by bullets and firefighters at engine company 18 tweeted these pictures less than an hour after the shooting and you can see the bullet hole in the front window of the roll door of the fire station. police have not said if the

around santa rosa and napa and half moon bay low-to-mid 50's and clouds again and the possibility of drizzle could be less than yesterday morning. the clouds dissipate, quickest in the east bay valley and santa clara valley and pockets of sunshine opening up between noon and 2:00 away the bay and mostly cloudy at the coast for the afternoon hours. clouds come back if thursday morning, and another bit energy rotates around this low and maybe a stray shower in the north bay mountains but once we get beyond this morning it will be fairly dry. it is just this low is keeping us with a wind coming off the mountains and it is cooler for today and tomorrow and increasing sunshine and warm friday but check out saturday especially mother's day, a great day if a picnic with low sights at the coast and upper 70's around the bay and mid-80's inland. >> c.h.p. made quick work of this sig-alert which is canceled
